| The thought of further education can seem intimidating,
especially, as many Governing Bodies are beginning to closely monitor
individuals' CPD records. But with just a little careful consideration CPD can
be easily managed by all.
| Many organisations refer to CPD as a
cycle. If you begin at the reflection aspect of the cycle, this is where you
must be aware of what you would like to and/or need to learn. |
The next phase is the planning part where, with the help of your
manager or Union Learning Representative, you will need to find ways of
satisfying your learning needs.
|
 |
| |
The middle portion is perhaps the hard part; the actual learning.
Once you have undertaken your professional development the circle is completed
with the evaluation stage.
|
This is where you must evaluate the
effectiveness of your endeavours; learn from your mistakes, build on your
successes and apply all to your professional practise.
(Learning cycles are based on work
by Kolb, 1993, Experiential Learning).

To help with
this process CPDConference have included guidance to planning and recording
CPD. We have made the forms available in two types of downloadable file.
The PDF files
are best if you wish to print them out now, to be included in your own CPD
folder. Alternatively you can keep the MS Word Doc. files on your own computer
and update them using your word processing software.
