The majority of healthcare professionals have a
commitment to continuing education beyond their registration. Continuing
Professional Development (CPD) is the term used to describe the ongoing process
of furthering our professional practice, knowledge and skills. In the UK, both
the Health Professions Council (HPC) and the Nursing and Midwifery Council
(NMC) have recently developed standards for their registrants CPD.
All
registering bodies like the NMC and HPC state that you must comply with the CPD
standards in order to maintain your registration and you will be required to
provide proof of your CPD activity by providing records and evidence for their
audit process.
CPDConference.org was established to help. Become a full

Resources, Jobs & Recruitment Advice.
You can meet
the CPD standards in many different ways.
The important things to remember are that:
- it doesn't have to cost you a lot money;
- there is no such thing as approved CPD and learning
activities;
- you don't need to collect points or certificates of
attendance;
- there is no approved format for the personal
professional profile or portfolio;
- your CPD must be relevant to the work you are doing
and/or plan to do in the near future;
- it must help you to provide the highest possible
standards of care for your patients and clients.
